(Metromix) – Meskerem is a delightful addition to the melting pot of cuisines that is South Grand. The cozy interior is warmly decorated with the colors and pictures of Ethiopia, and the food is unerringly authentic. Appetizers and entrees come served in the traditional Ethiopian style; no utensils, instead food is served on a spongy flat bread called injera which you use to scoop up your meal. Mild-mannered diners will find more traditional dishes such as chicken doro wat or one of the vegetarian entrees to their liking, while the more adventurous can really go for the culinary gusto with the kitfo, a delicious Ethiopian version of steak tartare. This would make a great date location for a couple of adventurous, out-on-the-town foodies.
