Reviews help our community find businesses they can trust. To keep them honest and useful, we ask everyone to follow a few simple rules.
Who can review
You need an Ethiopialist account with a verified email address to write a review. You can sign in with Google to make this quick. To prevent abuse, each person can post up to three reviews a day.
Be honest and first hand
Review places you have actually used. Describe your own experience, in your own words, good or bad. Please keep it respectful: no hate speech, threats, personal attacks or private information about anyone.
No paid reviews
We do not allow reviews that are paid for or rewarded in any way. That includes money, discounts, free meals, gifts or any other benefit in exchange for a review. Businesses must not offer them, and reviewers must not accept them.
No conflicts of interest
Do not review your own business, a business where you work, a business owned by family or close friends, or a competitor. If you have a personal stake, please leave the review to others.
Moderation
New reviewers’ posts are held for moderation until two of their reviews have been approved. Reviews that contain links are flagged for a closer look. We may remove reviews that break these rules, and we may remove accounts that break them repeatedly. We do not remove reviews just because they are negative.
Business owners
Owners who claim their listing can publicly reply to any review. Owners cannot edit or delete reviews. A thoughtful reply is the best way to respond to criticism.
Reporting a review
Anyone can report a review using the “Report” link next to it. Tell us briefly what is wrong. We check every report within 48 hours and will take action if the review breaks this policy.
